Bernardas Butkus (euphonium, Lithuania) is one of the most prominent young euphonium players in Lithuania. He began playing at the age of six with his grandfather, Pranas Dapšauskas, and later studied with Jurgis Dapšauskas and Antanas Ladyga. He has won major national and international competitions.
Since 2022, he has been actively performing on the European brass band scene as the principal euphonium of Brass LTand Sklepučini, with whom he won EBBC 2024 gold medals. In 2023, he was named Lithuania’s best soloist, and in 2024 he received the title of best soloist in the Premier section.
Currently, Bernardas is an AR Resonance Junior Artist and an Adams Rising Star, studying at LUCA School of Artsin Belgium with Tim De Maeseneer and Frans Violet.
